Some say an addiction is an addiction. When people see other people smoking, drunk, obese/overweight or high on drugs, some will ignore, others might feel sadness, and some will go beyond and walk alongside them to listen and help if asked. The latter is where I like to live when it comes to food and health. If it does more harm than good, we have the “KNOW HOW” to change...we just need more of the “GO NOW”. Support and guidance is important.
We have all consume foods that HEAL and salivated for foods that harm our bodies. Some say it is as hard to kick the SAD Food addictions as it is to kick other addictions. All of these addictions, including harmful foods, have three things in common:
They all are appealing once you are hooked.
They all have life threatening consequences.
They all are very hard to stop.
There are many more people in America addicted to SAD Foods than any other harmful substance. Foods that harm are cheap, convenient, easy to get everywhere, and most agree; foods that harms the body generally tastes better than the foods that heal.
Sad Foods creates a huge variety of chronic health issues. Once a human removes the majority of these harmful foods, they remove the majority of their chronic health issues. If the majority of Americans ate foods that heal, instead of harmful SAD Foods, our country would not be in the health crisis that we now face. It is really that simple.
When it comes to correcting our health by food, we all could use a little inspiration, a nudge, support and guidance.
While I was writing this article, I ran across another article about food addictions by Ron Largerquist. It's a short, but good read and he touches on many addictions. He also brought Christ into the fold of his spiritual health life.
